Student Computer Support Services (SCSS) provides University of Akron students with knowledgeable assistance in the setup and operation of their personal computer equipment.
SCSS will install University approved software and assist in installing hardware and peripherals, which will enable you to connect to the University computer network and the internet. SCSS will also provide hardware diagnostics, software diagnostics (within reason), and basic troubleshooting. SCSS will not install or troubleshoot any software or hardware relating to games. If a hardware problem is found or suspected, our student technicians will give you an idea of where the problem lies, so that you can seek assistance from your hardware provider or service center.
SCSS can also help you set up your dial-in access to the University Computer Network as well as direct network connections or wireless for resident hall students. SCSS is located in the Lincoln Building next to Wonderbread.
