PeopleSoft v8: Training |
Training
PeopleSoft v8 upgrade training includes a mix of web-based and hands-on learning. Courses will be available to assist existing PeopleSoft users make the transition to v8. These "bridge" courses will highlight the differences between v7 and v8. All courses, whether hands-on or web-based, will have an accompanying manual with step-by-step instructions. For web-based training courses, users should print out the manual prior to beginning the web-based course in order to make notes and to assist in following the tutorial. Instructor-led class participants will receive a copy of the manual in each training session.
Web-based tutorials
Web-based tutorials will provided just-in-time training. This cost-effective approach is the most efficient method of delivering training to hundreds of users over a relatively short time span. In addition, it allows the user to determine when they receive the training and the courses can be repeated as necessary to reinforce important concepts.
Hands-on Training
Hands-on training will also be available. In some instances, training will be required in order for security access to be granted for a specific business process. For example, prior to receiving security access to enter requisitions, users will be required to attend a hands-on training session for entering requisitions. Keep in mind, those existing users who already have Requisition add access do NOT need to attend another training session. They should simply take the web-based training in order to see the differences in v8. Alternatively, existing users can also attend a hands-on training session if they prefer an instructor-led training session.
