A regional school of national impact, Akron Law features renowned programs in areas such as intellectual property, trial advocacy, and professional responsibility and is also one of four Constitutional Law Centers in the United States. Our clinical program gives students the opportunity to experience the actual practice of law in supervised settings.
Akron Law has a strong commitment to public service with more than 165 alumni who have served as members of federal and/or state judiciaries. In addition to the Juris Doctorate degree, Akron Law offers five joint degree programs and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property.

Akron Law attracts students of great intellectual capacity who have the background and character to excel in the legal profession. The credentials of the entering class place ours among the top student bodies in the country. The median undergraduate GPA of our most recent entering class is 3.39 and their LSAT scores place them in the 40 percent of students nationwide. Our students are drawn from more than 25 states, several foreign countries and more than 80 different undergraduate institutions. Many have advanced degrees, and have left successful careers to attend our law school.
Bar exam pass rates at Akron Law have been excellent. Since 2000, Akron Law's first-time taker pass rate has never fallen below 78 percent, has peaked at 92 percent and exceeded 80 percent 8 times. For the past two years, Akron Law's first-time takers have outscored first-time takers at other law schools in Northeast Ohio. Akron Law graduates experience similar success outside Ohio.
