


The Mentor Program pairs lawyer members of the Akron Bar Association with second year law students at The University of Akron School of Law.The program runs during the Spring Semester from January 2013-April 2013. Mentors provide guidance and share practical knowledge about the legal profession with their mentees. Together, mentors and their assigned law students participate in activities selected from an activity pool, including visiting the courthouse, attending a bar association meeting or shadowing a lawyer.
Attorneys, please volunteer to be a mentor! Second year students, sign up to participate! You will enjoy this very worthwhile, rewarding experience. Fill out the forms by clicking below and submit by the deadline.
Monday, October 22, 2012 – Applications and Questionnaires for students wishing to participate will be available in the CPPO.
Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 12:20 (Room W-214) and Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 5:15 (Room 151)– Mandatory Mentor Program Training Session – all second year students who plan to participate in the 2012 – 2013 Mentor Program MUST attend one of these training sessions. You will not be assigned a mentor if you do not attend.
Tuesday, November 20 by Noon – Student Applications and Questionnaires due to the CPPO.
Tuesday, December 11– students will be notified of the name of their assigned mentor.
Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. – MEET YOUR MENTOR reception at the Akron Bar Association, 57 South Broadway, Akron, Ohio
Students/Mentees must complete and submit the application by Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Noon.
