The Career Planning and Placement Office plans many events throughout the year, some of which occur semi-annually, others annually, and others less routinely. Some of these events include:

Government Information Fair
The Government Information Fair is held annually at the School of Law. Visitors include representatives from local, regional, state, and federal agencies and organizations. The Fair is designed to acquaint students with the wide array of career options available throughout the public sector.
Solo/Small Job Fair
This event generally occurs in both and fall and spring semesters. Its size is determined by the number of employers who agree to participate. Generally, smaller firms may be more flexible in their hiring criteria and offer students a well-rounded experience in their legal development.
Mentor Program
The University of Akron School of Law, in conjunction with the Akron Bar Association, annually sponsors a Mentor Program for law students. The purpose of this program is to expose law students to the art of practicing law through a one-on-one relationship with a qualified and experienced member of the bar. The intent of the Mentor Program is to instill in law students the tradition, pride and love of the law necessary to successfully practice. It is hoped that participating students will find a valid and committed role model within the mentor program.
Career Roundtables
Career roundtables involve speakers who visit the School and meet with students generally over the lunch or dinner hour. Such speakers reflect topics which students have indicated interest in. You can find more information by clicking here.
