We work with employers seeking our students, recent graduates and alumni, to work in their firms, corporations, governmental units, and other entities as attorneys, summer associates, law clerks or in other positions.

Employers visit the Law School and interview students in both Fall and Spring semesters. Employers can always post their job openings with the Career Planning & Placement Office in order to receive resumes of interested students and alumni.

The Career Planning & Placement staff are available to consult with employers in order to optimize their recruitment success at The University of Akron School of Law.

On-Campus Interview Program

The program is designed to provide convenient and accessible facilities to further the interviewing process at no cost to employers.

Upon scheduling an interview date, employers may list specific requirements for pre-screening purposes. Resumes of qualified applicants will be forwarded to employers for their review approximately two weeks before the interview date. Interview schedules are also forwarded at that time.

While on campus, you will be invited to join members of our faculty and decanal staff for a casual lunch and informational session.

Alternative Interview Options

If you are unable to interview on campus, the Career Planning and Placement Office can assist your organization in a number of ways:
  • Graduate Placement Bulletin - By listing a job opportunity with the Career Planning and Placement Office that job then becomes part of the Graduate Placement Bulletin, which is available to alumni on our website and exchanged with over 193 law schools nationwide.
  • Job Match Program - Many employers have immediate needs for recent graduates, law clerks, or experienced attorneys. Our job match program can provide you with a list of talented individuals tailored to meet your specific needs.
  • Job Postings - The University of Akron School of Law maintains an active job posting system for its students and graduates, which is updated regularly.
  • Resume Collection - Employers who are unable to interview on campus may request that resumes be collected, reviewed, and mailed to them by the Career Planning Office, or they may choose to receive resumes directly from each individual applicant. To take advantage of this service, please contact our office. NALP members may supply your firm resume and specific hiring criteria.
