September 10, 2014, 11:00am – 1:30 pm, Room L-151 at University of Akron School of Law: Professor Wilson R. Huhn will participate in a debate regarding the social, professional and legal effects of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.  This event is sponsored by the student chapter of ACLU.

  2. Town of Greece v. Galloway (official prayer under the Establishment Clause)
  3. McCullen v. Coakley (constitutionality under First Amendment of statute creating buffer zone against protests near reproductive care clinics)
  4. McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission (constitutionality under First Amendment of statute limiting aggregate amount an individual may contribute to political campaigns)
  5. Harris v. Quinn (constitutionality under First Amendment of state law requiring state’s home health aides to pay “fair share fees” to union for collective bargaining services)
  6. National Labor Relations Board v. Noel Canning (constitutionality of President’s recess appointments under doctrine of Separation of Powers)

October 9, 2014: Professor Wilson R. Huhn will participate in the program: Supreme Court Update: Constitutional Law Decisions of the 2013-2014 Term, a continuing legal education program for the Ohio Judicial College.

December 5-6, 2014: John F. Seiberling Chair Richard L. Aynes will be participating in the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the appointment of Ohioan Salmon P. Chase as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C. jointly sponsored by the Supreme Court of the United States Historical Society and Georgetown University Law Center.
