Biography

Curtis L. Mack earned a bachelor of arts from Michigan State University in 1967 and Juris Doctorate from The University of Akron in 1970.  He received a Master of Laws degree from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a Cooke Fellow.  

 

Mr. Mack is a partner at McGuireWoods LLP, and leads the Atlanta Labor and Employment Group. He is a nationally recognized labor and employment lawyer, having served as lead counsel in numerous cases in state and federal courts.  He has represented 30 of the nation's Fortune 100 companies, and has authored and co-authored several law review articles regarding labor and employment.

 

Mr. Mack was a law professor at the University of Florida, where he taught labor and employment law. He served as adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law, and he serves as adjunct professor of labor law at the University of Michigan School of Law. He is a member of the Michigan State University College of Social Science Board of Visitors.  Mr. Mack was previously regional director of the NLRB Atlanta region, as well as general counsel and chairman of the Florida Public Employee Relations Commission.

 

He has served as Chairman of the Human Relations Commission of the City of Atlanta since 1989, and is on the Board of the We Are Family Foundation.  In 2003, he was named one of America's Top Black Lawyers by Black Enterprise. He was also voted a  "Georgia Super Lawyer"  in 2004 and 2005.  Mr. Mack is listed in Who's Who of American Law,  6th Edition and has been one of America's "Leading Lawyers" Chambers USA, since 2008 and named in Chambers USA, one of America's Leading Lawyers 2008-2011.

Curtis Mack is a member of the National Alumni Board at The University of Akron and received an Outstanding Alumni Award from Akron Law in 1997.
