This year's program featured panel discussions on a number of "hot" topics, including proposed patent reform legislation, the impact of Sarbanes-Oxley on intellectual property law, and litigation before the U.S. International Trade Commission under Section 337 of the Tariff Act. The program also included timely updates on developments in patent, trademark, and copyright law, as well as a session on ethics.
Our luncheon speaker was Susan S. DeSanti, Deputy General Counsel for Policy Studies at the Federal Trade Commission. Ms. DeSanti played a pivotal role in the study of the patent system that led to the introduction of the pending reform bill. Our luncheon was sponsored by Ulmer & Berne, LLP.
