Brad Signet is currently an Associate General Counsel of American Electric Power Service Corporation located in Columbus, Ohio. His current responsibilities include management of the Business Development & Acquisition practice group within the AEP legal department. The attorneys and staff in Signet’s group provide legal support to the Company in the following areas: major transactions, international projects, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, intellectual property, contracts and corporate development. Mr. Signet is a member of the AEP Corporate Technology Advisory Board and chairs the AEP Patent Review Committee.
Mr. Signet joined AEP in 1985 as an attorney in the contracts and real estate group. He was promoted to senior attorney in 1990 and became assistant general counsel in 1995. He assumed his current position, Associate General Counsel, Business Development & Acquisitions, in 2001.
Mr. Signet earned a bachelor’s degree in history and education from Bowling Green State University in 1997 and graduated from the University of Akron School of Law in 1981.
