Mike is a partner in the Cleveland office of Ulmer & Berne LLP and is Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Group. He is areas of concentration are corporate, securities, internet, IP, and emerging businesses law. His concentration in the cutting-edge areas of technology transactions, licensing and transfer, intellectual property protection, Internet and eCommerce and bioscience law serves numerous clients in both established and emerging businesses. His experience in corporate and securities law includes private equity transactions, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of businesses; financing structures; and federal and state securities compliance.
Mike was named to CrainTech’s Who’s Who in Technology (2002, 2003, 2004) and is a 1999 recipient of Crain’s Cleveland Business “40 Under Forty” Award. He was an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University Law School and has authored several publications.
Mike is a graduate of Northwestern University (B.A. 1986) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D. 1991).
