Richard Gilbey graduated in law from Queens College Oxford. He holds postgraduate degrees in IP law and European community Law from Strasbourg University. He was a researcher for two years at the CEIPI IP Center in Strasbourg.
Mr. Gilbey began his law career as a Solicitor for the firm of Elmhirst & Maxton in the United Kingdom. He served as In House Lawyer-Trademarks and Designs for Synthelabo (pharmaceutical affiliate of L’OREAL), as well as Sanofi (pharmaceutical affiliate of ELF), both of Paris, France. As a founding partner of Gilbey de Haas-Avocats-Paris, Richard specializes in Intellectual Property Law and advertising law.
Mr. Gilbey is admitted as a solicitor in the United Kingdom, where he is also a member of the Law Society, and is admitted to the Paris Bar as an Avocat.
Mr. Gilbey is married and has two children.
