Ronald Yaist has over 34 years of experience in the practice of intellectual property law including over 20 years of experience in managing intellectual property law attorneys. All of his career in this field has been with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio beginning in 1966. In 1981 he was promoted to Patent Counsel, Materials Section and in 1992 was named Director of The Patent & Trademark Department. January 1, 2001 he was appointed to the newly created position of Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property Law. Effective November 30, 2001, Ron Yaist retired from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
His educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Youngstown State University in 1959 and a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Akron in 1967.
Mr. Yaist is a member of the following professional organizations:

Mr. Yaist and his wife Julia have four grown children and four grandchildren. He has been active in his community serving 20 years as an elected member of the Stow, Ohio City Council until his retirement in 1995. He was president of Council for five years and also previously served as chairman of the Special Charter Review Commission for the City of Stow, Ohio, 1972. He was also a past president of the Stow Jaycees, serving as Assistant Legal Council of the Ohio Jaycees and is a JCI Senator. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys swimming, bridge and discussing politics.
