After working with Mack Webner on an IP project he told me a little about the IP Council and invited me to join.
My goal in joining was to try to assist in bridging the gap between immersed and dedicated practitioners of IP as are most members of the Council, and members like myself who need to manage the growing IP function in a corporate setting. It is no longer sufficient for non-expert practitioners of IP law in an in-house setting to rely exclusively upon the experts for direction. Knowledge of this growing and complicated area of the law is a must.
I think that Akron Law’s IP program offers students real life experience and very practical knowledge about the world of IP in practice, with its offerings and professors.
