Area high school juniors converged on the School of Law every year for the first segment of Junior Leadership Akron. The program is designed to acquaint students with the inner workings of their community, including the justice system.

During their morning at the Law School, the students are given an overview of the court system by Dean Richard L. Aynes. Admissions and Financial Aid Director Lauri File talks about the law school admissions process.

The students are further immersed in the justice system with lectures by law faculty and local Judges. The following speakers have participated in past programs - Professor J. Dean Carro ('78), Akron Attorney Dennis J. Bartek ('71), former Summit County Juvenile Court Judge William P. Kannal ('52), and United States Bankruptcy Court Judge Marilyn Shea-Stonum.

Professor J. Dean Carro ('78) lectures on the finer points of the justice system.
