The school's attorney/student mentor program was established several years ago in conjunction with the University Liaison Committee of the Akron Bar Association. The program pairs second-semester, first-year law students with experienced attorneys. The program's primary goal is to give students a greater exposure to the actual practice of law, thereby hopefully deepening and enriching their substantive legal education. Attorney mentors are encouraged to provide students with opportunities to observe and discuss the day to day realities of the practice of law.
This program continues to be a superlative way in which the School of Law and the Akron Bar Association are making good faith efforts to help bridge the gap between the realities of law practice, in many of its forms, and the theoretical and analytical concepts of a legal education.
