Fall 2008 and Spring 2009
Combined Financial Aid Budget |
|
The amounts noted below reflect the MAXIMUM loan amount that a law
student at The University of Akron School of Law could borrow for the
fall 2008 and spring 2009 combined semesters. Students may certainly
borrow less than the maximum amount. Law students are eligible to
borrow a maximum of $20,500 in Federal Stafford Loan funds per academic
year, depending on the student's Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
number. Keep in mind that students may borrow beyond the $20,500
Stafford Loan up to the maximum loan amounts (as noted in the table
below). Those funds would be secured through a private lender. For
more information on Alternative Loans,
Questions regarding the status of your financial aid loan may be
directed to Senior Associate Director of
Student Financial Aid Michelle
Ellis at mellis@uakron.edu. You
may also contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at 330.972.7032 or
800.621.3847.
Scholarship recipients who plan to borrow
the maximum amount should remember that in accordance with federal
financial aid guidelines that the scholarship value will be deducted
from the maximum loan amount in order to avoid "double dipping" in the
loan/scholarship program. Students may receive up to the maximum
budgeted amounts through the loan/scholarship program. Please refer to
the following table. Please note that the
summer term is treated separately from the fall and spring semesters for
financial aid purposes. Students requiring financial aid for the summer
term are required to fill out a separate application. Please contact
Student Financial Aid for more information. |
