For the law review that serves as an instrument of American educations also serves as a hallmark of the institution that sponsors it.
About the Akron Law Review Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Akron Law Review is a scholarly legal publication of the University of Akron C. Blake McDowell Law Center that produces an annual volume of four issues for use by scholars, practitioners, and judges. In 2006, the Akron Law Review was ranked #42 out of 262 ABA-accredited and major foreign journals on the Washington and Lee impact rankings (based in citations per issue). This is the second consecutive year the Akron Law Review was in the top 50. We accept articles on all issues. Also, we devote one issue every year to intellectual property issues. Prior symposiums have focused on complex litigation, elder law, judicial elections, and education law. Volume 38, Number 3 addressed the financing of judicial elections in the State of Ohio, and included a comprehensive study of the financing of several past Ohio Supreme Court elections. In Volume 36, two issues featured articles on the importance of John Bingham to the Fourteenth Amendment.
Membership The Law Review is composed of second-, third-, and fourth-year full-time and part-time students. Members are selected either based on their grades after the first-year of law school or through a write-on competition conducted every summer. Invitations are sent to eligible students in July, and a training session is held in early to mid-August. ![]()
