University of Akron to Celebrate Constitution Day Sept. 17

Akron, Ohio, Sept. 3, 2009 - The University of Akron will be participating in National Constitution Day with several days of activities. Constitution Day is a national celebration of the day the U.S. Constitution was signed. The United States Congress passed legislation in 2005 making it mandatory for every institution of higher education in the U.S. to celebrate Constitution Day on or around Sept. 17th on their campuses.

Activities for the week include:

Tuesday, Sept. 15
Register To Vote!
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Student Union Lobby
Associated Student Government will register new voters.

The Constitution and Healthcare: A Discussion
Noon - 1 p.m.

Join this panel of experts and join the discussion on the hot topic of healthcare reform and constitutional issues surrounding healthcare. The panelists are:
