The University of Akron School of Law’s 9th Annual Student Leadership Retreat took place on Sunday, August 26th. Over 40 student leaders, as well as a dozen law school faculty and administration were in attendance and had the privilege of meeting incoming dean Martin H. Belsky. Dean Belsky discussed the importance of leadership with the students and gave advice on how best to reach one’s leadership potential. Also addressing the student leaders was Meg Matejkovic, who stressed the importance of giving class gifts. Assistant Dean Rosemary Cannon and Professor J. Dean Carro discussed the ever-changing EAF allocation process with the students. Amy Goodson-Beal talked about student opportunities and involvement with the Akron Bar Association. William Rickett talked in-depth about the importance of Pro Bono opportunities. The afternoon came to an end with a presentation by the SOURCE, for the benefit of the student organizations. |
