School of Law Main Page
The mission of the Academic Success Program is to promote the achievement of law students by developing the critical and analytic thinking skills and study methods that will help them thrive. ASP offers a variety of services which aid students from the transition into law school, through the pivotal first-year experience, into the upper levels of their education, and all the way through bar preparation and into practice as an attorney. ASP offers the following:

Workshops & Seminars Throughout the year workshops and seminars are offered on a variety of law study related topics, such as case briefing, outlining, exam preparation, time management, stress management, and writing skills.

Group Study Sessions ASP Assistants lead weekly group sessions on study techniques designed around first-year courses.

Individual Consultations The Director is available to meet with students to assess individual learning needs and develop customized study strategies.

Study Materials ASP has a large collection of supplemental study materials, such as hornbooks, sample outlines, flashcards, audio lectures and practice exams, which may be checked out through library circulation.

Meeting/Study Room The ASP offices include a room equipped with computers and study equipment dedicated to working with ASP assistants in group sessions and one-on-one conferences.

The Academic Success Office is located in Room 315 on the third floor of the Law Library. Stop in, call 330-972-8065 or e-mail the Director, Amy Goodson-Beal at agoodso@uakron.edu to see what we can do to help you be successful.
