


Each year Akron Law competes in a number of national mock trial competitions. During fall semester, students participate in the Landskroner Foundation for Children Closing Argument Competition ; the National Civil Trial Competition ; the Buffalo/Niagara National Criminal Trial Tournament ; the National Institute for Trial Advocacy Tournament of Champions ; and the Battle of Ohio Competition.
In spring semester, Akron Law students compete in the Texas Young Lawyers National Trial Competition ; the American Association for Justice Trial Competition ; and the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County Annual Mock Trial Competition.
Also in the spring, students may also participate in an intramural competition sponsored by the law firm of Tzangas , Plakas , Mannos and Raies, and the law school chapter of the American Association of Justice. This competition is open to all law students.
Mock trial teams at Akron Law celebrate a winning tradition. In 2011, two Akron Law students won first and second place in the Landskroner Foundation for Children Closing Argument Competition, the sixth consecutive year Akron Law has placed in one of the top two spots.
