Archival Services Migrates Digital Collections

10/30/2013

The University of Akron Archival Services, a division of University Libraries, recently migrated all of its digital collections to a new content management system with the assistance of staff from the Center for the History of Psychology (CHP).  Currently administered by CHP, the new system uses CONTENTdm, a digital collection management software that allows for the upload, description, management, and delivery of library and archival digital collections to the Web.  The Archival Services landing page with a list of collections is available at http://cdm15960. contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/landingpage/collection/p15960coll3.

The former system, known as The University of Akron Digital Resource Commons or UA DRC (http://drc.uakron.edu/) will be terminated by OhioLINK on December 6, 2013 and will no longer be available to the public.  All digital content from the UA DRC is now available in the new system in addition to new collections and additions to existing ones.  Other digital content will be added soon.

For more information on Archival Services’ digital collections please see our Digital Collections page on our website at http://www.uakron.edu/libraries/archives/collections/digital-collections.dot.
