Archival Services of University Libraries collects, preserves, and provides access to important historical resources that primarily document the history of the following topics:

• The University of Akron
• Akron and Summit County
• The rubber industry
• Lighter-than-air flight
• Ohio canals
• The book and print culture
• The B-26 Marauder and the 9th Air Force

As the Archives and Special Collections of the University, Archival Services supports the research and scholarly activity of the university community, visiting scholars, and the general public by providing the following services:

• Preservation of historical resources
• Reference and research assistance
• Bibliographic instruction
• Class visits
• Records management
