RefWorks
Use this bibliographic tool to manage all your citations and organize them in any of 250 standard and selective style sheets. This session will cover basics RefWorks functions like creating an account, exporting citations from databases (EBSCO, OSearch, Google Scholar, etc.) and formating those citations into a bibliography. More advanced features using the Write-N-Cite plug-in to format parenthetical references in the body of your paper may be covered if time allows.

This session will cover many different aspects of this controversial topic, ranging from the use of detection tools like Turnitin.com, to dealing with suspected instances of plagiarism, to designing assignments that discourage and inhibit plagiarism. The session will attempt to understand the student point of view as well as the teaching dilemmas that surround this issue. It is hoped that attendees will be willing to debate and discuss issues such as, what is the proper balance of educational and punitive measures when dealing with plagiarism issues?

Wiki Wiki
Come explore one of the oldest pieces of software developed for the World Wide Web. This session will briefly cover the history and philosophy of Wiki. We will spend most of the session learning to use MediaWiki syntax to quickly create content for the Web. We will also explore how wiki can be useful in the school and work environment.
