OhioLINK Remote Authentication
provides access to most
OhioLINK databases. This service does not provide access to University of Akron-only databases (such as InfoTrac,
Health Reference Center, EconLit, etc.). If a database allows access through OhioLINK Remote Authentication, there will be an "Off-Campus (OhioLINK Authentication)" link
under the database name. If there is no "OhioLINK Authentication" link, the service is not available for that database. Please refer to http://www2.uakron.edu/library/alphalist.asp for a full list of databases.
Only current
University of Akron faculty, staff, and students are eligible for this
service. You will be asked to enter your name, your student or employee
ID # or barcode #,
and Library PIN when accessing any of the
available databases.
Remote Authentication works differently for local OhioLINK databases (usually those with ohiolink.edu in the address) and remote OhioLINK databases.
In order to access all of the databases available via the remote authentication service, either connect to the
databases directly from the OhioLINK web site at http://www.ohiolink.edu or
follow the "Off-Campus (OhioLINK Authentication)" link under the database name.
Most versions of the AOL
browser will NOTwork with the Remote
Authentication software.
