Course Reserves
Course Reserves provide the University of Akron teaching faculty with a convenient way of making assigned course readings readily available to students. Three types of Reserves are available for use:
Print Reserves
Print Reserves include, but are not limited to: circulating books from the UA Libraries collection; instructor copies; reference materials; and government documents. Instructors can specify if they want items to circulate for 2 hours or 4 hours, 1-day, 3-days, or 7-days.
Electronic Reserves
Electronic Reserves are web-accessible versions of course materials. Items that can be placed on Electronic Reserve include: journal articles; book chapters; class notes; PowerPoint presentations; tests; homework keys; and class syllabi. Instructors have the option of providing students with links to websites and a live class chat room. Electronic Reserve items are available 24 hours a day from any internet-accessible location. Materials may be used by more than one student at a time and cannot be stolen, damaged, or altered.
Media Reserves
Media Reserves include but are not limited to: CD’s, DVD's and VHS recordings. These items are made available to students in Media Services (Bierce Library room 63), and can be used in our media viewing area.
