From the Camera to Print
So, you’ve got all these photos on your camera. What are you going to do now? In this six-evening class, you’ll go over all the aspects of working with digital images from the time your last image was taken, to the frame. Instructor: Ted Younessi

  • Session One: Learn how to retrieve images from your camera; create folders on your hard drive; what is hard drive space, image size, file size and navigating directories. Storage: flash cards, flash readers, camera software, USBs. Images: quick resizing, e-mailing photos.

  • Session Two: Built-in programs with Windows. Picture properties: resolution explanation (for print and Web). Using Microsoft picture manager for small adjustments, resizing and resolution.
  • Session Three: Photoshop - Part 1. Images: Adobe Bridge, batch renaming, rotating. Basic Photoshop tools: zoom tool, resolution, resizing, cropping.
  • Session Four: Photoshop - Part 2. Image Adjustments: cloning, healing, dodge and burn borders, vignetting levels, brightness contrast.
  • Session Five: Printing. Online print order options. Uploading images to a print shop, understanding quality resolution, framing. Flickr accounts and online galleries. 
  • Session Six: Show-and-tell, hands-on with your own camera. Intro to Lightroom.
