Are you a contractor who will be painting, installing windows, cutting holes, removing baseboards, disturbing a drip edge or fascia board? Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint. As of April 2010, under an EPA rule, contractors performing RRP activities that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and schools built prior to 1978 must be certified and must follow specific practices to prevent lead contamination. This EPA-HUD developed course will provide the certification required by the EPA (valid for five years). Regulation 40CFR 745.90(a)(1) and 40CFR Subpart L. The penalty for noncompliance can be as high as $37,500 per day, per violation and possible jail time. Don’t take chances! Instructor: Bill Allman
