ADVANCE Orientation What is ADVANCE?
ADVANCE is a special two-day orientation program for students of color at The University of Akron. Participants meet with current UA students, faculty, and administrators that help students learn how to identify and handle the challenges typically encountered in the freshmen year.
Some of the benefits of ADVANCE include experiencing an overnight stay in a residence hall, participation in interactive informational sessions, review of the financial aid process, meet other students of color and learn more about the support services offered at The University of Akron.

ADVANCE is a popular program and each session is limited to only 35 students to ensure that everyone gets plenty of personal attention. In order to get the session you want, return your Intent to Enroll Form as soon as possible. You will enroll in fall classes during your ADVANCE Orientation Session and by attending an early session you can increase your changes of developing an ideal class schedule for the upcoming semester.
* Please note In order to complete the Enrollment Process at The University of Akron all students must request a New Student Orientation date. In order to request a date for New Student Orientation, you must submit your Intent to Enroll form and pay the $75 Confirmation Fee.
