Biography

Patricia LaNasa, soprano, earned her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in vocal performance from The University of Akron. She has performed numerous opera roles, including Lady Billows in Albert Herring, First Lady in Die Zauberflote, Miss Todd in The Old Maid and the Thief, Arminda in La Finta Giardiniera, Madame Terentia in Captain Lovelock, and Mother Grieg in Song of Norway.  She has performed with Dorian Opera Theatre in Decorah, Iowa, and was an associate artist with Opera Cleveland in Cleveland, Ohio.

A frequent soloist with UA's Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Choir and Chamber Ensemble, she was a featured soloist with the Singers Companye's 2013 tour of Sicily, 2009 tour of Spain, 2008 tour of Italy, The University of Akron Choirs on their 2006 European tour, and with The University of Akron Orchestra at UA's "Shining at Severance" in 2003. Principal voice study with Dean Southern, and piano study with Christina Tan. She is a Senior Lecturer for the School of Music, and pianist and vocalist at Silver Creek Church in Aurora.

Ms. LaNasa is a member of NAfME, the Ohio Music Education Association, and has been listed in Who's Who in American Women and Who's Who in America.
