Escher Quartet Residency
In 2016 the Escher Quartet was named the inaugural Quartet in Residence of Tuesday Musical: a multi-year performance and education initiative focused on audience development and community engagement. The residency includes a partnership with the University of Akron School of Music, and other community organizations. Activities include public performances, collaborations with music educators, and master classes and workshops for college aged music students.
At The University of Akron, students are given the opportunity to work with the members of the quartet three times each year. The residency provides for private lessons with a member of the Escher Quartet and coachings with string quartets and chamber ensembles. The program at UA is made possible by the Mary Schiller Myers Lecture Series and the Beatrice K. McDowell Family Fund.
