Amanda Walls Receives Sidney M. Perlstadt Memorial Award
Akron, Ohio, Oct. 6, 2005 — Amanda Walls, a fourth-year, evening law student at The University of Akron, received the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel Inc.'s (ACEBC) Sidney Perlstadt Memorial Award for Employee Benefits Writing for her law review article “Don't Bite the Hand that Feeds You: Why Aetna v. Davila is Good for Employment-Based Healthcare.” Her winning paper was submitted to national journals for publication review. Walls works as a health care benefits consultant for Employers Health Purchasing Corp. of Ohio and for its not-for-profit subsidiary, Community Health Coalition. During the summer, she worked for Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs LLP in its Canton office, where she did research and wrote projects for the various practice groups. Following graduation in December, she will join the firm as an associate. A resident of Uniontown, Walls holds a bachelor of arts degree in public administration from Miami University.
