UA and Sughrue Mion PLLC Sponsor Intellectual Property Law Symposium
Akron, Ohio, Feb. 13, 2007 –– The University of Akron School of Law and Sughrue Mion PLLC will sponsor the ninth annual Richard C. Sughrue Symposium on Intellectual Property Law and Policy on March 12. This year's symposium is themed, “Beyond Our Borders: International IP Law and Other Current Trends.” The symposium will address international and legislative developments, including patent law reform and the protection of trademarks abroad. Speakers will also discuss recent judicial decisions in patent, trademark and copyright law. This year's featured speaker will be Chris Israel, U.S. coordinator for International Intellectual Property Enforcement. Israel has been deputy director of International Public Policy for AOL Time Warner and senior public policy analyst for Time Warner Inc. Co-sponsor Sughrue Mion, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, is an international intellectual property law firm specializing in patent, trademark, copyright, Internet, trade secret and unfair competition law.
