Scholarships Still Available for Feb. 26 Stephen R. Covey Event Stephen R. Covey, author of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," the best-selling management book of all time, will visit The University of Akron on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Covey will lead two public events, an "Insights on Leadership" training session from 8 to 11 a.m. and a community engagement session from 3 to 5:30 p.m., as well as an invitation-only luncheon with civic leaders. The events will be at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall. The cost for the morning session is $299 per person, $199 for groups of 50 or more, and $99 for UA students, faculty and staff. The cost for the community engagement session is $325 per person. Scholarships will be provided by University Park Alliance to community groups and individuals who meet selection criteria. Covey's visit is presented by The University of Akron and University Park Alliance. Political Columnist to Speak at UA Jules Witcover, syndicated political columnist for the Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, Washington Post and New York Times, will visit The University of Akron on Thursday, Feb. 28. She will speak on “50 Years of Covering Presidential Elections” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Leigh Hall Room 207. Witcover's presentation is the third of a seven-part speaker series focusing on the presidential primaries and general election, sponsored by UA's Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics. Rusesabagina Lecture Rescheduled Paul Rusesabagina's “Hotel Rwanda: A Lesson Yet To Be Learned” lecture has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3 at The University of Akron's E.J. Carol Costello to Speak at UA as Part of Women's History Month Award-winning journalist Carol Costello will speak at The University of Akron on Monday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Martin University Center. Costello is an award-winning journalist who began her career as a weekend reporter for WAKR-TV in Akron, went on to anchor “CNN Daybreak” and now is a contributor to CNN's “The Situation Room.” Costello's talk, which is free and open to the public, will kick off UA's Women's History Month celebration.
