UA partners with WJW-TV on new Akron-Canton 'Hot List'

Akron, Ohio, March 11, 2008 — The University of Akron is partnering with WJW-TV to identify and recognize the Akron-Canton area's best local businesses through a new program: “myfoxcleveland's Hot List: Akron/Canton Edition.”

In this “best of” competition, people can log on to www.myfoxcleveland.com to nominate and vote for their favorite businesses in Summit, Stark and Medina counties. Winners will be announced in May. The site also is designed to be a “destination site” for area shoppers, because it provides business descriptions, photos, videos, maps, coupons and customer reviews.

"The University of Akron is fortunate to be in the center of a vibrant region," says UA President Luis Proenza. "And we are proud to be associated with the area's 'best of the best' businesses through this exciting project."

“Fox 8 is very pleased and proud to join with The University Akron to present the Akron-Canton Hot List online guide,” says Greg Easterly, WJW-TV vice president and general manager.
