UA Hosts 'Almost Human: Making Robots Think' Lecture with Lee Gutkind April 2

The University of Akron's Libraries, with support from the Friends of University Libraries, will host a lecture by Lee Gutkind based on his book, "Almost Human: Making Robots Think," on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:15 p.m. in the Martin University Center Ballroom. The lecture is free and open to the public.

"Almost Human" goes behind the scenes at the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute, offering readers an intense portrait of the robotic subculture and the challenging quest for robot autonomy. Gutkind, an English professor at the University of Pittsburgh, will introduce the audience to those robots and speak about the importance of thinking more clearly about the upcoming robot revolution in legal, ethical and philosophical terms.
