Taylor Institute Hosts Networking Session
Akron, Ohio, May 7, 2008 ―The University of Akron's Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing hosted a networking meeting May 5 for Advance Northeast Ohio (ANEO) partners. ANEO leverages resources and relationships in an open, collaborative function to gain regional support and action for economic competitiveness, says Laura Steinbrink, director of regional partnerships at the Fund for Our Economic Future, a collaboration that focuses on developing initiatives that align with Advance Northeast Ohio. “We were pleased and honored to host this very successful event,” says Dale Lewison, director of the Taylor Institute. “The university is an active partner in ANEO and welcomed this effort to explore partner relationships and help build a network of regional partners.” “There is a great deal of synergy between the Taylor Institute's work and ANEO partners,” Steinbrink notes. “At the meeting we sought and achieved collective action on initiatives and ideas for growing support across the region.” Among discussion topics were the region's economic action plan, business growth and attraction, talent development, growth through racial and economic inclusion, government collaboration and efficiency, successes and upcoming initiatives. The Fund for Our Economic Future is a collaboration of more than 100 Ohio foundations, organizations and philanthropists that strengthens the region's economic competitiveness through grant-making, public engagement and research.
