The University of Akron’s ongoing, major renovation campaign, the “New Landscape for Learning,” has added 15 new facilities to campus. These include two classroom buildings, residence halls, a Student Recreation and Wellness Center, Student Union and Honors Complex, as well as 34 acres of green space.
Next up on our new landscape is an on-campus football stadium with seating for 30,000. InfoCision Stadium and Summa Field, now under construction, are scheduled to open for the Zips' 2009 home opener.

Exchange Street Residence Hall offers students a choice of shared single rooms, two-person or four-person apartment units. And the hall quad offers plenty of space for relaxing and recreation — including impromptu volleyball games.

The University also has expanded beyond campus to meet the educational needs of Medina Country residents. Doors at the newly completed Medina County University Center, an innovative workforce development center, opened to students in January 2008.
Since 2000, when the “New Landscape for Learning” campaign began, numerous renovation projects have also been undertaken. Among the latest — an addition to Guzzetta Hall that brought all of our educational programs in the performing arts — dance, theatre, music and arts administration — under one roof.
