Polymer Engineering Academic Center

Polymer Engineering Academic Center

On June 8, 2001, The University of Akron dedicated the first of its completed New Landscape for Learning buildings — the Polymer Engineering Academic Center. The four-story structure is home to the Department of Polymer Engineering and houses the Rubber Division of The American Chemical Society. A glass walkway connects the center to the neighboring Olson Research Center, which houses laboratories, instrumentation and equipment used for polymer engineering research. The design was done by Braun & Steidl Architects, Inc., of Akron.

The 35,000-square-foot facility offers:

*The 134-seat Sundar and Eleanor Aggarwal Lecture Hall
*A 24-seat distance-learning classroom
*Student calculation room
*General purpose classroom
*Faculty, staff and student offices
*Conference and seminar rooms
