Ritchie Hall Renovation

UA opened its first student residence — Ritchie Hall — in 1960. Originally built for male students, this residence hall was totally renovated in 2001 and now accommodates 60 men and women on separate floors. Ritchie Hall has double-room configurations with community bathrooms located on the corridor. The building's amenities include a computer lab for the residents' use.

Located on north quad, the 20,550 square foot Ritchie Hall also is home to the offices of the Department of Residence Life and Housing. The design was done by Irie Kynyk Goss Architects, Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio.

Other residence halls also were renovated during the New Landscape for Learning building program. Bulger, Spanton, Sisler-McFawn and Orr halls were remodeled to provide improved living space, upgraded safety features and Internet systems.
