Request an Orientation Date

All new students and new transfer students are required to participate in a University orientation program prior to enrolling in classes. You cannot enroll in classes without attending orientation. Orientation will prepare you for enrollment at the University by providing access to ZipLine, academic advising, class registration, student support services, and more.

The University of Akron offers a variety of different orientation programs. See the descriptions below to select the program designed for you. Reservations for orientation are now being acccepted. Please wait to register for a date until you have received your Enrollment Packet.

Which Orientation Program Should You Attend?

New Student Orientation

For recent high school graduates starting college for the first time.

Transfer Transition

For transfer students making the transition from another college to UA.

Adult Learner Orientation

For new adult learners who are starting college for the first time.

Post Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEOP) and Seniors to Sophomore Program Students

For current high school students admitted to this program.

Medina County University Center

For students taking courses at the Medina County University Center (MCUC) located in Medina, Ohio.

One Do-Over Per Student, Please.

If you find that you will not be able to attend the orientation date assigned to you, contact the Office of New Student Orientation immediately to reschedule. Due to the many students who must be accomodated, we can only offer one rescheduling per student. Failure to attend orientation on the rescheduled date may require the student to defer their enrollment to the next academic term.

To avoid rescheduling, check your calendar for special events and vacation plans before requesting an orientation date.

NOTE: If you are a parent or family member who is submitting the Orientation Request on behalf of your student, please check their work and/or school schedule before submitting the reservation request to avoid the possibility of scheduling conflicts.
