Akron Adventures Program
Trip Highlights:
- Akron Adventures is about interacting with upper-class students who know what it is like to be new to campus
- Akron Adventures is about meeting other new students before you even get to campus in the fall
- Akron Adventures is about reflecting on your expectations for college and getting excited for a fun first-year experience
Two different adventures have been planned just for you (read about them below). On both trips you can expect to:
- Participate in small group interaction activities
- Gain leadership and team bulding skills
- Have a chance to challenge yourself in the great outdoors
- Interact with upper-class students and campus administrators
River Challenge (West Virginia)
 July 18-20, 2008
Fee: $199

If you are looking for a fun and exciting weekend on the rapids of the New River Gorge, then the River Challenge is for you. The river provides exciting adventure challenges that you will experience with fellow Zips. This experience will allow you to increase your communication skills and promote cooperation among the group, skills helpful when making the transition to college life.  Exploration Challenge (Hinckley, Ohio)
August 1-3, 2008
Fee: $129
Group Size: 18
The Exploration Challenge is a weekend filled with hiking, rock climbing, and flat-water kayaking with a group of fellow Zips. This experience is designed to build strong connections among participants and to strengthen decision making skills, both of which are great preparation for life at The University of Akron.

Transportation:
Students participating in either trip will meet at The University of Akron campus and depart to the Adventures site as a group. Directions to the meeting point on campus will be sent with your confirmation materials after you register for your Adventure.
