Martha Conrad is the Director of Interprofessional Simulation for the College of Health Professions. She is a registered nurse with a master degree in Family Health Nursing and a certificate in Life Span Development Adulthood and Aging from the University of Akron and a BSN from The Ohio State University. The past 9 years, Mrs. Conrad has focused her professional career on simulation nursing education using low to high fidelity simulators. She has worked with faculty to develop simulation within the curriculum and facilitated faculty advancement in simulation through professional organizations, presentations and research in simulation. Mrs. Conrad revitalized the Ohio Consortium of Nursing Learning Labs and has led this informal group in networking on simulation in nursing education state wide. Her nursing career has been a blend of practice, education and administration. She has more than twenty years of experience working with older adults in a variety of settings including acute care, long-term care and community health. Mrs. Conrad has been in baccalaureate education for over 30 years. Martha has presented hundreds of nursing continuing education programs with a focus on health promotion, assessment and gerontology. Mrs. Conrad holds memberships in Sigma Theta Tau International, The Honor Society of Nursing, the American Nurses Association, The Ohio Nurses Association, The National League for Nurses, The Ohio Consortium of Nursing Learning Labs, the International Nursing Association of Clinical Simulation Labs and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She is a journal reviewer for Applied Nursing Research and the Journal of Clinical Simulation in Nursing. Mrs. Conrad represents the University of Akron on the Austen BioInnovation Institute of Akron, Center for Simulation and Integrated Healthcare Education and is a member of the Ohio Network for Nursing Workforce.
