Location:

Pinched by the beautiful Bodensee (Lake Constance), the Rhine River and the Swiss-German border, Konstanz is an ideal starting point for trips to the German, Swiss and Austrian Alps and for water sports, hiking and cycling. The world-famous Schwarzwald (Black Forest) can be reached in about an hour.

Founded in 1966 as a ‘reform university’, Uni-Konstanz’s campus lies on the banks of the Bodensee and enrolls over 10,000 students. In 2006 and again in 2012, Konstanz was named one of eleven “German Excellence Universities” by the German government, qualifying it for special recognition and funding.
