Located on the confluence of the Huisne and Sarthe rivers, Le Mans is a city inhabited since 5,000 BCE. Medieval cathedrals, Roman baths and ancient fortresses are common sights among Le Mans’ winding streets. Located just 10 minutes from the center of Le Mans, the Arche de la Nature offers visitors over 1,000 acres of unspoiled nature. Le Mans’ also plays host to the Formula 1 French Grand Prix and the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Université du Maine was founded in 1977 and enrolls over 10,000 students on two campuses. Its six (6) schools and institutes offer over 50 undergraduate programs and nearly as many Master’s and PhD programs.
