Conveniently located between Osaka—Japan’s second largest city—and Kyoto—the ancient capital, Hirakata has a population of 411,000 and sits in the commercial and cultural heart of Japan. Both Osaka and Kyoto are accessible by train in less than an hour, and Tokyo is approximately four hours away. 

Rooted in institutions begun in post-WWII Japan, Kansai Gaidai University has focused on international education from its founding. A private institution, it enrolls approximately 15,000 students. UA students will participate in Kansai Gaidai’s world-renowned, English-language Asian Studies Program; A Japanese "Speaking Partner Program" is also available.
