Biography
Dr. Beckett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Urban Studies at The University of Akron. She teaches courses in public organization theory, public budgeting, public law, and urban policy. She has published in the areas of public budgeting and finance, government accountability, democratic governance, and public law in Public Administration Review, The American Review of Public Administration, Public Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management, and Administrative Theory and Praxis.. She authored the book Public Management and The Rule of Law (Sage, 2010), and she is the co-editor of Public Administration and Law, An ASPA Classic (Sage, 2005). She earned a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and a Ph.D. in Public Administration is from the University of Colorado at Denver.
