PRIZE ESSAY IN PHILOSOPHY COMPETITION

The Philosophy Department is pleased to announce its annual competition for the best philosophical essay written by a University of Akron student.

TOPIC:              Any Area (ancient, medieval, modern philosophy, etc.)

                        Any Philosopher (Aristotle, Descartes, Locke, etc.)

                        Any Problem (free will, existence of God, morality, etc.)

DEADLINE:        No later than May 9, 2014

LENGTH:            No more than 15 pages

ELIGIBILITY:     Must currently be enrolled as a student at UofA

SUBMIT TO:        juscak@uakron.edu

REVIEW:           Essays will be read by a review committee and a prize awarded,

                        given there is a submission deemed worthy

AWARD:           $150 and engraved recognition on department plaque
