Nominations for
University Park Alliance Awards
(deadline is April 14, 2008) Eligibility:
Students, faculty, staff and alumni of The University of Akron (as well as community members) who have engaged in service-learning and volunteer projects in the University Park neighborhoods are encouraged to apply for The 2008 University Park Alliance Awards, sponsored by Dominion. These awards recognize outstanding community outreach and revitalization efforts by members of the University community and neighborhood organizations.
Award Categories:
Up to eight $1,000 awards (and trophies) will be presented at an awards luncheon on Monday, May 12, 2008 to awardees in the following categories:
- Student or Student Organization
- Scholarship to student or donation to student organization
- Faculty
- Donation to department project or selected non-profit organization in University Park
- Staff/Alumni/Retiree
- Donation to department project or selected non-profit organization in University Park
- Community Member
- Donation to selected project/non-profit organization in University Park
Nomination Process
| All members of the University community may submit nominations to the University Park Alliance Awards Committee for consideration. Nomination forms must be completed and received by the Committee no later than April 14, 2008. |

The University Park Alliance is a partnership between The University of Akron, the City of Akron, Summa Health System, Akron Beacon Journal, AMHA, Akron Public Schools, the Greater Akron Chamber, and the University Park Development Corporation to help revitalize the University Park neighborhoods. Major funding for this effort is provided by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
